Cambelt change!

Hi guys,

I've got my 2nd phase 1 172, it's done 65,000 miles and had it's last cambelt change in 2006 at 41,000 miles! When should I do a cambelt change??

Every 5 years or 50-ish k miles is what I thought.

strictly speaking it's 72k or 5 years. I'd leave it not much over 4 years and 60k personally. You're fine for miles, but when in 2006 was it done?

I'm getting mine done at K-tec in a few weeks... I see you're from around here too!

out of interest, has the aux belt been done since the cambelt last was?

Just checked the service history, it was done June 2006. The cambelt and fanbelt where both done at the same time!

well as far as i'm concerned the aux belt is overdue, so get both done fairly soon
