Cams or machined/flowed head -which to go for?

Jim makes me laugh and makes some valid points, just because people dont want to hear it is why he gets given a hard time on here. Keep speaking your mind fella, otherwise we'll all end up like sheep.

16vMK2 to 172Sport - listen to Ben by all means, he's a proper tuner and despite my differences with him I do respect his level of knowledge. As for Fred... well, I agree with Jack... sorry Fred, but I dont think you have a scooby about the technical side of things. Knowing enough to sell them is one thing, but to give advice on engine tuning is just dangerous

being the only person out of any of the companies (mark fish and Hill power and shed not included) to acutally have an engineering qualification related to motorsport, i believe i do

Jack, I'm more than happy with how it's going, albeit slow. It's all being machined from scratch so it is bound to take time. Rome was'nt built in a day and all that.....

Lol! I'm not overly fussed though TBH, I understand machining things from scratch etc takes time and with only Ben and his mechanic, I can't expect things to be done ovenight. I'd rather it take more time and be perfect than have it back and have niggles......

Mini-valver! stop being so mysterious!! what could Ben, genius that he is, do to a 1.6 Clio to make it better/quicker?

Bits and bobs ;)
It's f**king clever, put it that way. I had an idea what I wanted, told Ben and he made it happen. Along with some other stuff on the way!
I'd be lying if I said I did'nt have good expections from it.
