Can anyone help please!

I need some help. Does anyone here work for a Renault dealer in Scotland and is willing to do me a huge favour? Thing is, i got my exhaust fitted under my indy dealers warranty, but they couldnt get a standard renault backbox so they fitted a powerflow one. Now, directline wont insure me because they dont believe that my indy dealer couldnt get hold of a standard renault backbox. The only way they will re-insure me is if i get a renault dealer headed letter stating that the part was unavailable. If anyone can help pls pls pls reply or PM me, im so stressed at the moment!!!:(

Drop your car of at the dealers and tell them to return the car to the original spec as you can insure it or get them to write a letter and fax it whilst your there to the insurance company and ring up the insurance company there and then and check its acceptable.

If you dont get anywhere or they start getting annoying invite the local press along they always seem to need a story.

it was an indy dealer that fitted the backbox, the same dealer i bought the car from and the same dealer who i have a 3 month warranty with as i only bought the car a month ago

Then demand that the indy fit a standard exhaust, or take the car back as you are unable to insure it in a "modified" state.

dont matter, im going to renault myself, going to buy standard backbox off them for £109+VAT and am going to fit it myself and then sell the powerflow backbox for the the amount that i paid renault, does that make sense?

No not really. Its up to Reno to fit the proper part if you ask.

Take it back, explain the problem and demand they do it!

yeah i agree to. Im assumin indy are a renault dealer! If you get no-where with them ring renault customer services and demand to speak to either LISA LOXON OR ANNA QUERIPEL. These as far as i know are the managers at customer services and the only 1s able to make real decisions.

the indy dealer is an independant used cars garage called saline motors near dunfermline, not a franchised renault garage, i bought the car of saline motors a month ago and since i got it have had problems. however any work that has been carried out has been under the 3 month warranty i got with the car. (car is over 3 years old, renault warranty has expired) renault back box costs 130 inc vat and powerflow exhaust i got for free from saline muppets is worth about 220, so am going to fit the reno backbox myself and sell the powerflow, not even been used for 130, does any of that make sense?

this may seem stupid but y even bother telling the insurance about a different back box? like there ever gonna check up anyway
