Can I expect an improvement in SQ?

  A slow one :-(
I've just bought some JBL 2 ways to replace the front speakers in my Cup from CAD... just wondering if I can expect an improvement in SQ?

I know the original hu is cack but Im going to be building up the system slowly as I'm pretty skint atm.

When I did exactly the same thing in my first dynamique I noticed a fair different in sq for the better. And they were only cheapo JBLs too.

running of the stock Head unit, these could sound a little worse. Wait til lyou get an amp and you will see improvements

Cheers guys... I went for the cheap JBL GTOs which will go to the back once I've got enough dosh to buy some new fronts.

Taylor - i'm member number 16 on talkaudio :D ... just I feel a bit ignorant posting on there now as I have lost touch with the audiophile scene lol... although I'm a bass junkie at heart.

The plan for the Cup is to replace all speakers with JBLs. Back ones will be GTOs the fronts will be the top end ones.

I have got a 12" Lightening Audio sub in a sealed box which I will run from a LA 250 WRMS mono block amp.

I plan on powering all the normal speakers from a descent head unit... I will probs go for Alpine/JVC as I have been impressed by them in the past. I have a spare Alpine V12 amp which will power the fronts if need be but I'd rather keep the weight down and keep the space used in the boot to a mininum.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what my ears say next weekend :(

SQ in Audio is a Jigsaw (not the powered bladed cutting MDF variety), the more pieces you add that fit well, the better the picture.

Change the head unit feeding the JBL's and they'll sound way better, amp them, probably better again but only if its an amp worth putting in. Too many manufacturers and suppliers make/sell stuff that isn't really worth the hassle and cost of fitting...
