Can I get good Bass by just changing door speakers

  FF182 Brembo Max, BMC CDA
Hi,

I have just bought a 182 and the sound system if you can call it that is alwfull. I dont want to run cables ect for an amp or sub on this can.

Can I change the front a rear speakers and still get a good thumb from bass? I dont want to spend a lot of money after the car cleared me out. So I just want to change the speakers not head unit or cables.

Cheers

you'll always be limited by the quality of the headunit.

I really regretted speccing the so-called "preimum soundpack" in my R32 and have now replaced it with a proper JL Audio install. Punchiest, clearest bass I've ever had in a car, but without the ridiculous "boom" you get from cheap installs with subs.

Another route for you - try using Dynamat on all your door skins (use their "extreme" product). You'll be amazed at how much this improves the thump and clarity. Obviously adds a small amount of weight - but it's not that bad with the Extreme stuff. A must if you want any sort of decent sound quality in a car.
