Can I somehow make a scart cable into an ariel type thing...

I have a tv, with an ariel socket on the back, no scarts. I want to plug our humax into it, but via an ariel lead instead of a scart cable. Like on an old ps1...

Can this be done in anyway?

No. One way would be to use a VCR that has scart inputs, then you can use the VCR coaxial connection to view the scart input.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to get a new TV?

If it has no scart sockets at all god knows how old it must be and considering how cheap decent second hand TV's are surely that's the easiest option?!?

I got a very old black and white tv as my grumpy old man father is always complaining we dont need a big new tv etc etc, so i am going to swag the current tv and give him a 14" 70's black and white one.

Although it looks like they will have to put up with terrestrial if i cant get the freeview into it
