lol both engines are at the side of the car, the one on the engine lift is the new one (50k miles, 16 straight valves, new cambelt, no oil leaks, no melted piston rings, a working waterpump) on on the floor is the old one (140k, 16 bent valves, snapped cambelt, oil leaks everywhere, melted piston rings, broken waterpump) lol

fitted my coilovers today, dropped it about 3000mm or something

Would totally agree with Gav. Even when I have the car on axle standsI always rest a few wheels underneath just incase and tbh wouldn't trust a tolley jack if I was going to be underneath the car at all.

Good effort Martin, that garage looks the perfect size for working on cars too, none of this back against the wall legs under the car stuff.

Your brave if you've been under there with no axle stands, as said above get some if you can don't want that landing on your mate, he'll get blood on the chassis leg

ive got axel stands guys, just not using them on the car as i was doing another car in the driveway lol, 2 steel wheels were under the car as i done the gearbox mount and downpipe.

hoping to have it finished thursday night, i painted the bottom end of the engine black today to make it look a bit newer and better, pressure washed the subframe as it was covered in shite from the oil and coolant leak.

all that needs done now is engine back in, coilovers fitted at the rear, front ones slammed as low as i can get it to go without looking like its nose diving, rears on max. get my 195/45/15 EagleF1 GSD-3's fitted (4 of them) fit the polly bushes (anti roll bar and bottom arm ones), weld in the front strut brace then to finish it off fit the dynamique dash and steering wheel.

ohh yeah and get the coils set up and play about with the damping adjustment to get them perfect!

engines just had a new waterpump, cambelt kit, plugs, clutch, gearbox has only done 10k miles and need to give it a quick run to get it up to temperature then change the oil and filter with some millars fully synthetic motorsport oil ive got for it.

my old engine had a dipstick but didnt have any oil, apparently this is one of the reasons it didnt run properly the last 2 or 3 weeks but i thought oil was just an optional extra?

The fronts set that low that the front tyres catch the wing everytime i turn a corner lol. getting professionaly set up this week so it handles again as its all over the place at the moment, just took it a 5 minute test drive to test the engine (which is sweet as a nut!) also getting 195/45/15 Eagle F1s fitted this week to replace the 195/50/15 F1's so i can take it a bit lower, just need to get custom rears to go lower now.

hardest bit was getting the engine lined up with the gearbox when puting it in as we left the box in the car to save taking shafts out and draining/leaking gearbox oil! was a tight squeeze and that was just with a tiny 1.2!!

on the plus side the new engines a strong one, pulls to the redline no problem like mine used to untill the last couple of months!
