Can you fit 195/50 r16?

Hi, as per title. Is it ok to do a 50mm profile on road tyres?

Yeah, 50% of the width. So the sidewall in this case will be 97.5mm

Almost 10mm bigger than a 45 profile.

Ah ok, cheers for the info on that. Im looking for some good road tyres and seen an offer for that size that's all.

For road tyres I’ve gone back to 195/45/16. I’ve had 205 on the front and it seems to tramline quite bad, especially on the M62 with all the wagon ruts

If your lowered/spaced your definitely going to run into rubbing issues.
What tyres are you after, and whats the price you've found? I'm sure CS can find you a comparable deal on the right size if the only reason for going to the larger sidewall was price.

It's standard all round, they are on route now so I will see how I get on.

It's only 5mm more sidewall than 205/45 so you should be ok. Might look a wee bit chunky.
