was contemplating coilovers for my car in the next 2/3 months, but talking to one of my firends about it he said why coilovers instead of a susp kit?

basically i want the car to handle better, but i also want it low as fook! so is there a kit i can buy to take me lower than 60mm? or am i limited to that unless i buy coilovers to make it 80mm?

i know 20mm seems nothing on a rule but makes a car look so much lower in the flesh!

yeah i considered that, but how much lower could i take it on the 60mm shocks??

is it like saying a 35mm drop on the standard dampers is ok, but a 60mm drop is too much, therefore i could take a further 20mm off the lowering springs and lower by 80mm overall safely and causing no damage to the dampers??

lol, the front and back bumpers on my dynamique are not as low as the sport models, so i have more clearance anyway! :p

spoke to him in another thread about coilies etc, but thing is they are expensive, so if i can get a susp. kit that will take me 70mm+ lower then ill go for that option!

yeah, but its only a 1.2, so probably wont do any, possibly 1 or 2 track days

was thinking about getting an apex -60 kit, then buying some more springs and shaving a bit off of them!

  1.6 focus zetec....
Are you mad pepsi mate?? Chopping your springs.... thats worse than putting a max power body kit on mate!!

No you cant go any lower than 60mm with a suspension kit... only with a coilover kit.... Trust me its worth saving up for!!

nothin wrong with chopped springs kiza!!

to be honest i didnt think they would cost so much in total, coilovers i mean, say £450 for the kit, and then fred@yozza said budget for £200/£250 for fitting and setup, cant really justify £700 on suspension on a 1.2!

where as about £350-£400 for an apex -60, i've heard good things about the kits, mainly off martin_89!!

and to be honest i dont think coilovers are needed that much on my car, i mean i more than likely wont track it, plus im only going to keep it for another year or maybe slightly more so its a lot of money really.

by the way, thanks for answering the question kiza!

Its worth speding properly on suspension and IMO not worth speding £250 on setuping up Fk's there not expensive enough.

Normal setting up when there fitmented is good enough.
