Can you run itbs on standard ecu?

Why should you use a stand alone ecu do they really make enough difference to justify the cost?
I basically just want as much info as possible on running itbs on a standard ecu and the difference with a stand alone

Search for Russ_16v's project thread. It's to do with the sensors the std ECU uses not really being ideal for ITBs.

Plus if it's a ph2 you'll need to convert to cable throttle - although I have seen a butchered DBW TB motor being used to open teh ITB butterflys.

For ITBs on standard ECU you'll need a map reservoir and a pretty good mapper i'd say.
