Cannot get the sodding dash off !!

Ive had my dash off about 4 times before but this time ive been at it an hour and a half, on the left side its stuck ive been pulling and wiggling and pushing and im seriously fucked off now

Im pretty sure i have every screw out as ive checked and its just a clip, but a strong one? ive tried my full force pulling it out and nothing...

Ive used the force etc.

Its the back left clip on a mk2ph2, any suggestions?

Its been raining all evening so ive just called it a day now.

Btw i have an auto leads cable so im told for my car im sure it is, the red connector is male, and the back of the clocks is male... so is there a female connector on the audio loom?

I had this problem a while ago. To eventually get the clip undone I used a long flat-head screwdriver to pop it open.

It's a bit of a fiddle to see the clip and lift the dash and not prod the passenger airbag all at the same time, but good luck!

Where abouts was the clip mate? left or right of air bag etc?

Im just nakerd tonight and decided id tackle the job in the rain and dark, bad idea.

Think it's the airbag it normally jams on mine. There are three cut outs at the top of the dashboard that the dash slots into and somehow they catch on the way out. If you bend and pull it enough it will eventually come out.

Thought it was the three plastic things that go into the metal airbag harness but in the dark with a maglite i couldn't see it catching, Will have another look tomorrow, Cheers.

There b******s if you dont get them right. It will be catching on the metal hooks ontop of the airbag.

Take off the vent on top of the dash and put your fingers in there, you will feel where its catching.

^Yeah i took the left vent out last night, put a towel over the hole and gave it hell (i know what that sounds like)

My hands dont feel like they work today, Got to have another attempt today, Cheers for the advice i think i know what to look for now, Plus its light outside!

Rear of airbag has 3 clips. Well there not clips so to speak but if you dont pull the dash square towards the back of the car you'll be buggered.

I lifted the dash upwards the first time I removed it and it bent these clips and it took fooking ages and alot of skin of my knuckles to get it off, sounds like you've done the same.

Take you time and have a good nose around. It will come. Whoever thought of connecting the steering column stereo stalk to the back of the clock needs shooting!!! Wtf is that all about!

I did exactly what you said, Bent the middle clip on the airbag slightly, Took 3 hours to get it out was an absolute nightmare

And after all that the Autolead i bought off someone didnt work !
