for a walkbout lens its great so i here .. although if it were me id opt for the Canon 28-135

tbh the 28 is too big.

my lowest lens atm is a 35mm so need something lower

Supposed to be a good lens. The 15-85 is the crop sensor replacement for the now very old EF 28-135. The IS and everything else will be significantly better on the 15-85 I would have thought.

sorry to drag this up

i have just swapped my 18-55 IS for a 17-85 IS USM .. it cost me £90 plus my lense .. did i make a mistake?

Or ois this good?

4-5.6 .. exactly same as the 18-55 was except this lense has more zoom and a wider low end

also has USM
