On my drive at home theres a tree that hangs over me car dropping sap n s**t all over it, kinda annoying really so im looking into....

a) car cover
b) car port

however I believe the latter to be too expensive!

anyone on here use car covers, if so can they reccomend any decent ones?

Cheers

I used an out door cover a couple of years back mainly to keep sap off the paint, it was about £50 and it stated outdoor and breathable. However during the winter every morning the condensation had got under it and stuck the bloody thing to my car in the frost.

If you are going to get one you need to spend a fair amount really and because it wont be cheap you'll have to chain it under the car and lock it. You can get some which are quite waxy and thick but soft underneath, this is your best bet.

Tbh though they are only any good if you have a spare 15minutes every morning (on a good day) to fold it up and put it somewhere safe to dry, try doing this (on a bad day) in the rain and heavy wind when a birds shat on it and it blows against your work clothes and you'll be swearing like docker, I did.

I can understand the annoyance of takin off the cover in the wet/windy british weather - spose Ive got to see if the effort of removing/fitting cover is worth it over having a car full of sap most mornings

however, alot of the time I have to clear my windscreen of it because the wipers just smear otherwise - rendering me visionless

I'll check the links and keep your advice in mind

Cheers
