Car cuts out when the clutch is pressed/low revs..

  Ph2 172
For the past few months, my car has been stalling when the clutch is pressed at low revs, i.e coming up to junctions etc. It doesn't happen during normal gear changes, more when the revs drop..parking, in traffic etc. Could this be the TDC sensor or something more serious?

Not sure on the Clio, but I had this problem all of a sudden on my GTi-6 last year.

Panicked and it meant I had to heel and toe all of the time lol

Cleaned everything i could think of, including ICV, MAP etc. Changed air filter and other things (they were coming up due anyway)

I was having to use the car to get to and from work, so was gradually using the petrolin the tank. Once this was used and replaced with the stuff from my local, all was suddenly well again.

The culprit? Tesco Momentum 99 Ron, my car just didnt like it.

SO check and clean the obvious, make sure sensors etc are all plugged in properly as a starting point I would say.

Had a similar problem on my MX-3, caused by an air intake hose being split after the MAF.

Check your induction?

give the TPS, ICV, TDC sensor, Lamdba sensor and throttle body a clean and see where that leaves you,

sounds like idle control to me, mine does this from time to time, but its a mk1 so put it down to her being moody!

Right to update - cleaned out the throttle body and tdc sensor...no joy, still cuts out. Tdc sensor looks good as new as well! What's the situation with ICV's on phase 2's? do they have them/where are they etc?
