Car Drives like its Drunk

  Clio MK3 Work in progress
Car has recently developed a driving fault. The Front wheels seem to pull all over the place, if im going right the car feels like its trying to pull to the left, and if i turn left feels like car is trying to pull to the left. Even in a straight line, feels like the front is swerving about, even if its not.

I have had all the wheels re-balanced yesterday, had it tracked yesterday, tried swapping the back wheels for the front wheels. And had a garage have a quick look, said he could feel it when he drove it, but wasn’t able tot say what it was when he looked.

Going to take it to Renault on Tuesday, but any ideas?

Thanks

Does it do it just when you accelerate hard or all the time?

All I can suggest is what's been said on here before when people have had similar problems.

TrackRod ends?

Steering Rack related?

Something expensive then. Ive had engine mounts checked, so not to do with them either. Happends worse when i excellerate, slightly when i break , and sometimes when it feels like it. lol

Mine acts similar to yours, when I put the power on hard on an un-even/cambered road it torque steers all over the place it's a "two hands on the steering wheel" job to keep it straight. It also follows those tram lines that trucks leave on motorways which really makes the car feel disconcerting.

I've had mine checked over and nothing seemed wrong which leads me to believe it's something to do with the tyres.

Track Rod ends aren't that expensive I don't think, a steering rack replacement would cost quite alot.

When you say you get it when you brake? is that during heavy braking? because Clios have a tendency to wiggle around under heavy braking.

Na mate even if i just tap em, it happens if i drive 30 or if i drive 70. Feels like its gonna crash, this isnt torque steering, dunno what is. To be honest i'm gonna get it checked on tuesday with renault, and then see whats wrong. If its to much gonna trade it in, already spend over £1000 last 6 weeks sorting out brakes, exhaust shocks, service ect.
