car feels restricted holding back??

hi again another problem have a 1.2 clio with a 172 conversion sometimes when i drive it it feels like its holding back especially when you give a bit seems to go then like hold back almost like cutting out then all of a sudden it will go again does any 1 have any ideas? maybe something to do with fuel ?

TDC sensor maybe as mine used to loose power randomly(like it was cuttin out) then wud kick in again, mine also had probs startin every now and then aswell. Been ok ever since i changed mine.
