Car has cut out twice in exactly the same spot!

Broke down last week on possibly the busiest road in Oxford. AA man turned up 45 mins later, towed me round the corner and it started first time. Thought it might be an immobiliser issue.

Car stopped this morning in EXACTLY the same place, almost to the metre after I had been in stop/start traffic for about 10 minutes. The same AA patrol guy turned up again, but this time in 25 mins and the car still wouldnt restart. Towed me to the garage, about 30 mins away and it fired first time.

Renault seemed to think it was a faulty TDC sensor? Does this sound right? Car is still under warranty, but I will be bricking it next time I approach the same piece of road at a slow speed!

Edited to say: its a 172 Cup btw

I have heard of this before, If I remember rightly, quite a few cars onboard computers were being effected by radio waves causing car to cut out.
Something to do with radio masts in a particular area. Or it could just be your TDC :)

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
TDC sensor is not that expensive about £20 or so

Best thing to change first as they can cause problems for starting.

Simple job to change aswell.
