Car lowering for the 100th time

  182
Hi guys i know there are always new threads about getting clios lowered, I have bought shocks, springs and struts now just need to get them fitted and have the bar lowered.

Just been quoted £180 for it all to be done, seems like a lot but i am really considering doing it as its so much hassle! Don't spose anyone on here wants to earn a bit of cash and do it for me do they?!

lol, I was about to ask the same as eviljohn. I don't know how much garages usually charge, but £180 is a hell of a lot of money for the work - best be is to try and find somewhere cheaper, or get someone off here to do it.

£180 is what a friend got quoted to lower the torsion bars on the back, apparently their a nightmare

They can be if they are seized but if not then talking only about an hour the first time you do it and get it down to 15-20 minutes with some practise

Have a go at fitting it your self matey?

I didnt have a clue how to do it at first, but its not acutally that hard... but i did have Dave_RSI helping me who fitted new suspension on his car the week before ;)

The torsion bar can be a Biaatch if its seized like mine was, even worse when you snap the bolt inside to torsion bar when its starting to go dark aswell LOL!

But it eaaasy if it isnt seized you can do it in 30mins :D

I don't know how people get away with charging so much for the torsion bar tbh. It's a piss easy job and with a 1.4 the chances are it won't be seized as it's a closed bar torsion bar.

Yeah thanks guys thats what i thought but litterally my ownly option (as i don't wanna do it completely on my own) is this place

I live in Orpington not too far from Bromley if anyone could help i would be very happy.

As i said this is literally the only place that i can find that would be prepared to do it!

..obviously i would pay whoever helped me out!
