car MOT and service due!

i got my car insurance due next month (about £550 ) and my MOT and car service!

shoud i leave the service for the time being and just do the MOT or do the service befor my MOT?

what does a garage do on a service?

no a service dont check your whole car, only a M.O.T check... checks your whole car for saftey etc, if your worried just go get it Mot'd now as you can do it a month before its due, then if there is any faults they should be found you can then get them fixed ready for the retest, which usualy is free if done within a certain timeframe

ok thx any idears on how much a MOT is? does the car have to be serviced and what do they do on a service?

mot is £50.50 or so.

service? well since its a 1.2 prob be £150ish? as a guess.

get the service done and then the MOT thats the best way, you can check plenty of things yourself, ie tyres, pressures, lights.

Its a nightmare when everythings due together. My insurance, Tax and MOT are all due within 3 days of each other in May.

Ah i love being a mechanic

My MOTs are £25 staff rate. Find a local garage that specialises in MOTs, seen loads of places that are doing them for £35, and as said would be worth looking for a place that does a deal on service and MOT at the same time, some places will do a free MOT with a major service!

well the car went in to the garage today, they fitted new spark plugs oil (think that means a oil change), oil filter, fuel filter, checked and cleaned the brakes cheked tyer pressues lights and controls, oil locks and hinges, check anti-freeze mix and a road test and most importantley got them to fill out my service history book

all for a grand sum of £148.52

good price or not?
