Car swerving out at rear

  Clio s 1.4 16v
Hi new to this. Just bought a clio s 1.4 for the mrs. Has been fitted with tsw 15" wheels with 195 width tyres. When going over potholes or bumps in the road the car skips out on the rear right side quite badly. Any ideas what this might be anyone? Don't wanna have to pay a fortune at a garage only for them not to know. Thanks.

  Whichever has fuel
As above, the rear shocks on Clio's are made of wet tissue paper.

Get some new ones from GSF/ECP and it should sort everything out.

Pop them off (easy enough job)and check for oil leaks/wetness under the shroud, if they are leaking then you have no damping & a very springy & erratic rear wheel on that side!

Always replace both even if one is ok, it wont be for much longer.... ;)

it might not be the shocks mate. Most hatches will feel like the rear skips while going over a bump/pothole on a bend, albeit only minor skipping. Unless you're switching ends on yourself, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

They're not exactly hard to get off - Take one off, lean on it and I bet it goes to the floor without so much as a fight let alone rebound. Replace as a pair though ;)

They are oil shocks on the clio. Have a look at the springs aswell if they are broke it will skip about easier.
