Car Weight <-> Acceleration

Hiya, got my rsi weighed today lol, it weighs 980kgs, how much does everyone elses weigh? also if i take some stuff out (any ideas what?) would it make it any quicker on acceleration? cheers

Loost 105 of the weight and you get 10% better power to weight so its like an exta 10% more power although as drag increases ie at speed you wont get the extra kick that 10% extra power would.

the sky is the limit really with weight, it all depends how much of a compromise you want to make with regards to comfort etc

Power to weight is what its all about.

My VTS has about 130 bhp, but per ton (ton = 1000kg) its got around 139, as it weighs 935kg.

Some people like to strip out all unneccessary stuff loike rear seats and spare wheel, a full tank of fuel weighs a lot.

If ye can lose say 50kg (which is a far bit) youd get about 1/20th extra in terms of bhp per ton, ie around 5bhp.

If I lost 50kg, my power would still be 130bhp, but per tonne itd eqaute to around 146.

Not a lot on the road but on the drag strip, can be a bit.

Ditch the spare wheel to begin with and go from there.

Depends on how mad you wanna go with it......

Ive upd the power on my valver and lost a tiny bit of weight and it all equates to just under 170bhp/ton!

i was getting 16.1s at crail with a passenger, half a tank of fuel, back seats and spare wheel, took all that gubbins out, was getting low 15s
