car wont rev above 3000rpm when driven

hi i have an 02 reg 172 sport engine management light is on aswell as engine light and car wont rev above 3000rpm when driven its like its in limp mode but engine revs ok when stationary can anyone help thanks

It alsorts mate including plugs, coilpack, throttle body, lambda sensor

its a restricter to limit driving of the car, as said above its likely to be one of those things.

throttle pedal track 2 problem.......see other posts common problem for RS mk2

did you touched the wiring in some sort in the throttle pedal area. the wire from the throttle pedal has to be placed in the rigth way sand sometimes get loose if you shoetip hits it. If this is not the problem, it's probably a new throttle pedal (there is a pot meter in which signals the fbw throttle body) works simple value potmeter throttle pedal has to be equal as value of the throttle body.
