car won't start, help!

Hi all,

I bought a 2002 clio 172 onpy 2 weeks ago. It worked fine for a week other than speedo not working and sometimes felt like car engaged more power when this happened (?)

Anyway..
A week after using the car say 400 miles it wouldn't start and we had to bump start it...
?.. I put this down to no service for long time so carried on usimg car and meant to book a service.
Even before this the car hadnt started first time which I put dowm to spark plugs....

Now the car ticks over and even turned on after 4days no use I moved parkimg spaces and wemt to use this mornimg but started then cut straight back out.

A mate said it could be to do with cat 1 alarm but I dont think so..
Another friend said air filter?

Please help car is new and loved it before this !

Is it turning over when you try to start it or is it doing nothing?

Need a bit more detail about what happens.

Lights on the dash?

Noises?

Anything?

as jinjur stated.. need more information..it should start with no filter..
I would do your service .. oil/oil filter/air/ maybe spark plugs..then take it from there...
under the bonnet battery side check the brown relays.. take one out at a time ,then replace.. look if its green.. clean with sand paper..
water can get in.. been raining a lot.. happened to mine..it wouldn't start..

Ive got the same problem, sometimes starts, sometimes doesn't. Ive sanded all the relays, checked the fuses. Go to start, ignition lights up, try to turn it over and nothing... try a few times and then WILL start...... weird? New battery not long ago
