carbon cannister help please

iv just changed my carbon cannister as it was ticking madly, but the new one is ticking away like mad aswell, went to renault and they said one of the two tubes going to and from it could be blocked, or the cat is on its way out.
had the cat tested and its fine, and checked the tubes and all seems fine there too.
there is the possability that the new cannister is faulty

has anyone got any ideas what it could be as renault themselves are confused.:S

what about the holes that lead to the fuel thingy, will they need to be blocked off?

graham do you ever have problems on hot starting since you removed it? mine doesn't like staring when hot since i removed it on the dynacup

Mine did it just as my Lambda sensor was on it's way out. Heard of a car doing it due to a faulty map sensor aswell.

so far fred I've had no hassle with hot starting ie. long runs or pitlane starting. I know some clio's suffer starting issues, whether it's the dinky starter motor or if you've got a highly tuned engine then you may suffer some kind of starting hassle.

Put it down to being renault.

Mine ticks. Replaced canistor still ticks, replaced the pipes still ticks, Onley thing is it could be my cat but im about to replace it soon to a decat or sports cat, only thing i can do is w8t and see.

Mine tends to lag abit when its ticking.

It does not tick all the time sum times it ticks louder!

How do you mean by ticking? What does this cannister do?

Yep. And the throttle sticks until it warms up on wet mornings...

It ticks, over tick over, some times its not there like when my cars cold but when its hot it starts ticking and can sum times be quite loude.

When this occoures it seems slightley under powerd.

I realy want it fixed.

It cant be my canister or the pipes as ive replaced them.

I realy think its my cat or lamba sensors etc

Do you mean when the car is ticking over? I have noticed a slight ticking noise on mine when I set off or drive at a constant speed with the window open. It makes the car sound shite!

no throttle problems to date. has been remapped with 182 superchips. i pulled the throttle assembly apart to check it's contact points. did a minor adjustment without upsetting the idle.

seems to work well. also removed the floor pedal stop and thread which doesn't allow you to 'put the pedal to the metal'.

i brought it and fitted it myself, so no refund

Beyond that bit of plastic the throttle cant go any further. Wont make car faster mate...

Were dose your ticking come from, I think it could be my altonator as its coming from that area?

Iv had it sorted it was the throtal body that was cousing the slight downs in the performance every now and again and cousing the ticking when travaling and stood still. It could be differant on yours thow!

Well after changing my carbon cannister and still it carried on ticking..I have reciently changed my o2 sensor and it seems to have stopped .
