Cat converter

  clio 172 cup
Hi Guys,

Just wondered if anyone could tell me which cat i would need for my car. Its a 172 cup 2003. The one on it currently is different to ones that come up in a search on internet. The one on it currently has two pipes on it but when i search its just one box. Does this make any difference or both fit? Is there anyway to tell if the cat has failed without removing it? i have light on with code for sensor but replaced both and still on.

Any help much appreciated.

Twin barrel cat is from a Ph1 172.

If you're on a stainless exhaust then most have an adjustment to fit both cats. No drama there.

As long as the car is running right, not missing and returning decent economy, ignore the light.

To see if the car has failed without removing it get a rubber mallet and gently tap it. If it is rattles alot it's shot.

What exactly was the code that you had come up? It could be as simple as a vacuum leak or a coolant temperature sensor issue. IME most lambda errors say something like 'running too lean' or 'running too rich'.

If you need a cat I have a non-oem one for sale.
All working, but car was stripped and scrapped
