is this a sports cat? car flew through mot checks but failed on emissions. on CO2 levels. im just wondering if a standard cat will bolt straight in there? or is it fabrication work? its got a prospeed exhaust system on it. not sure if this is a prospeed sports cat or not? the cat measures 45cm. anyone no what the lenght of a standard on is?

hopefully someone can help. as i dont fancy buying a new cat, and then it not fitting.

It's a decat. Standard cat will not fit. I provided the guy I sold to with the standard cat which was modified (flange added) to fit by prospeed.

It looks like just our sports cat, but it could also be a silenced decat (although typically they have a more vertical wall on the front and back ends).

Certainly not a standard cat.

cheers, dont think steve has it anymore. never mentioned it anyway.

so how do i got about getting it through an MOT? fit a standard cat and exhaust?

Find a less thorough tester? lol

But seriously, yeah standard cat and exhaust for the test seems easiest option if you cant do that.

Standard cat, get it to an custom exhaust place, get them to cut it and weld flange to the rear end so it slots in place.

isnt the standard cat a two bolt flange at the front end? from looking at that pic its seems the decat to manifold is a three bolt?

unable to get right under the car atm as its too low and trolly jack is in my dads car (at work)

yup. not really what i need right now as i fly out to LA thursday next week and mot runs out whilst im away. so got the weekend only to sort it. lol.

sourced a 172 cup cat for £50, will it fit? and liquid metal in bicester will, measure, cut, fit a flange and fit the cat for £70.
