CD-Changer installation

  Clio dci 80
Hi,

I've just purchased a Renault/Alpine cd-changer that has come out of a 2002 Clio (so is mine) - haven't received it yet but want to be prepared/am too excited to wait. :)

Comes with lead and cartridge so presumably its complete. I understand from using the search that I best put it under my frontseat. How do I run the lead tho'?

Also, will I be able to control it using the remote stalk out of the box?

Thanks in advance!

When the disc changer is fitted as standard, it is mounted on a rack stylee thing under the front passenger seat. I presume the cable goes under the carpet.

I fitted an aftermarket disc changer in my last renault. I ran the leads down the side of the car from the boot under the plastic lip of the trim where it meets the carpet. Nice and easy to do, easy to retrieve and completely out of site. Good luck.

I ran the lead up the side of the seat to the dash but the proper way is to thread it up the side of the door round the footwell(or over the dash as Renault do) and then into the back of the unit. Its to much work for me though.
Yep its a plug in and play one though you don't have to do anyhting.

So is it a dash off job to get the cable out the back of the head unit to the cd changer ?

I miss havin a cd changer and could do with gettin one fitted to the standard head unit . Don't wanna go down the the head unit route with mp3 cos i've got 100's of cd's and can't be arsed converting to mp3 i'd be at it for weeks ,lol .

Try Matt black on here he has a load of cables in stock last time I saw him they will be cheaper.

Nope only stock cables can be used Halfords can order them but it takes ages and don't expect them to get the right one as the ends are Renault only.
