Central locking

Posting on behalf of my girlfriend who has a 1.4 16v 2002 clio. Its just gone into renault to have the TDC sensor replaced and since getting back 10 mins ago whenever we press the central locking button all the doors lock as normal but you get a continous high pitched beep from the engine bay. I have checked every door, boot, bonnet and window is shut correctly but we still have the problem.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Many thanks

It has an alarm then, it does mean something is open, i would check the condition of the pin switches on the doors (bent or broken) the easiest thing to do it go round opening one door and holding the pin switch while you lock it. another thing is does it say a door is open with the engine running the light is on the dashboard. if not then i would say a bonnet switch fault if it says there is a door open then its one of the doors or boot.

hey mate thanks for your reply. When we are sat inside no lights come on to say that the doors are open but they did lubricate the bonnet catch following a recall letter that went out. Do you know where the sensor is inside the bonnet? think its probably something on there.

Thanks for your help

Yea if its a gen renault alarm look to the left of the catch in the top part of the grill, if its not a geniune renault alarm then it my be on a little bracket somewhere else.

just went to have another look at it now. it is the Gen renault alarm but i cant see any wiring going into a sensor or anything like that? everything seems to function properly and ive given a good wipe down but still dosent work.
