Change for a Williams

Those of u who read this forum regularly will know that im having lots of trouble with my car. Im seriously thinking of trading/selling it and was thinking of a williams (pref a willy 3) in replacement. Youre opinions on this please?

I think you have to decide between a brand new car with a couple of niggly faults or an old banger bubbling with rust and failing MOTs every year from now on.

Do it.

I just gone from a 1.2 Mk1 Clio to a Williams 3.. amazing difference.

So so so worth it. Ok, insurance is high.. cost of keeping them can be high.. but they really do make up for it in handling and performance. The seats are probably the best car seats ever made, they are quite roomy inside for a small car, dash is mint (extra dials etc..).. and for the price etc.. there is nothing else which matches it.

I guess thats why they are still regarded as the best hot hatch ever.. ;)

Just read some reviews.. like the Evo one..

Came 6th out of the best 10 cars from the last decade.. which, lets face it is some achievement. When you think of all the cars been produced, and the Williams came 6th! Heh.

True some Williams will be a money pits but thats the same with any car, Id say go for it but make sure you get a good one. Preferably buy from a private seller who had a fat stack of bills/history and if you dont know your cars definatley get a RAC/AA check done on the car. I speak from experience, I got ripped off when I bought mine. It is the sort of car thatll put a smile on your face everytime you drive it though and isnt the best hot hatch of all time for nothing!

Think a new one might be out now (Of Evo..)

The current PGTi has the Williams/V6 feature in, tho, yea!

Issue 66.

Hehe.

Looks nice!

Original Williams 1.

One think to look out for tho, 70k.. in another 2000 miles it needs a major service, including cambelt change probably.. so wont be cheap!

Take the wheels off and sell them on here. Sell the car as standard. No idea what youd get but it looks pretty tidy. Have a peek in autotrader.co.uk and see what theyre going for.

if your young and insurance is gonna be a problem(willy is grp 17!) then it may be worth thinkiong about a 16v with 2L conversion? Usually faster then the willy in a straight line, cheaper to buy, and only grp 12 insurance!

  williams and trophy

aye^^^^^^ what he said

but if only a williams will do, then it has to be a willy1.............if u get one thats been well looked after ul have a lot less trouble than u will with a new clio........2 years of ownership of mine has resulted in ....new zorst, suspension,brakes,tyres,clutch..........this is all wear n tear n generally me raggin the arse out of it, all the other mods ive done havent been needed jus wanted lol

Not far off.. but it is a 10 month TPFT policy. (Elephant Bonus Accelerator!)

12 months would have been more than 1500 tho!
