Change of car?

  SLK 350
Was kinda half heartedly looking at a Meggy RS to hoon around in, but having been for a test drive in one, i really think im going to miss my current cars handling (172 Ph2).

I'm now thinking on getting my hands on a Trophy instead, although i haven't driven one im pretty sure the handling must be spot on, and i want those Recaros :)

Car is probably worth anything upto £6,500 i guess and a trophy is going to cost me £11k+ question is, does it warrant taking out a 5k extension on my loan to get my hands on one?

Also are they liable to be anymore to insure than a 172, or are they still group 16?

I was mate until i drove one. No quicker than the 172 to legal speeds really, and they really do feel big and heavy (cause they are lol) next to the Clio. You just can't throw them around corners like you can do in a 172.

Back on topic, need someone like Lee to give me some advice :)

5k's a lot for essentaily the same car, with a few tweeks (which you could do on yours for far cheaper).

There are lots of other nice cars out there past the Clio or Renualt ;)

Or if you really can't break from a clio.

5k.....

1k = suspension
1k = seats
3k = throttle bodies

5k well spent ;)

I know you can modify std 182s to be as good as the Trophy but it's still a bit of a rarity.

Like the Williams before, it's going to become a bit of an icon:D

Aye its more the fact you never see them around like's attracting me and that obviously being limited run they're going to always hold some value.

That said, indeed 5k is a big chunk of money, but if i get rid of the Mrs then i'd still be in pocket i think.

Yeah....the limited run is definately a good thing for the value of this car...you only have to look at limited cars like the Subaru P1 to see how much they have held their price:D

buy a Trophy, only live once. i've not regretted it and the smile hasn't disappeared off my face 2 and a half months after i bought it.

pop over to cliotrophy.co.uk, iirc there's a few who have gone from a 172 to the Trophy, sure they'll be able to advise you a bit too!

If your a real man, you'll get 5k and buy a trophy...

Penis extension it ain't, just a sound investment in a car.
