Changing air filter

  1.6 Astra Sporthatch
Hi,

New to my clio and just wondered where the air filter is and how to get to it? Planning to change the spark plugs and air filter ASAP in my car so any help would be appreciated.

I have a 1.2L Petrol Mk3 Clio

Thanks

If its the same setup as mine the airbox is directly ontop of the engine, first thing you can see. undo the jubilee clip at the back that connects it to the throttle body, and the whole thing pulls away from the engine. you'll also need to disconnect the oil breather pipe, just pulls off iirc.

now, with the box in your hands, turn it upside down and you will see afew torx screws holding it together. undo them and jobs a gudden'

simply reverse the above to put it back together :)

EDIT: pic for clarity ;)

underneath the big plastic cover on the engine.

you'll need some sockets to get the first layer of metal plate out of the way. Also, you might need to remove the belts down the side of the engine. To be honest, it'll be quicker just to slice them off.

Once the belts are off and you've got the top of the engine off, you're away!
