Changing gearbox

if you leave the engine in, then no, prop the engine on a trolley/scissor jack, likewise with the gearbox.

disconnect g/box from engine in situ and lift it out (they are awkward and as heavy as fook)

prepare to lose knuckles and gain huge amounts of stress.

Ive done it about three times now, and its a pain in the ass every time!

Good Luck!

Well i assume its the gearbox???

I lost drive and the drive shafts dont even turn so i was going to wip the gearbox out and see whats the problem? What would you want for your gearbox by the way

West Mids

g/box has had lots of use but is seems strong and still feels smooth, i had it stripped down and checked by a g/box specialist in walsall, a couple of months ago, they refaced one of the pinions other than that it was fine.

since then ive had a willy engine and g/box fitted, so its surplas to requirements.
