after the kuffufel with trying to get the images onto the laptop initially i sorted that and used the provided software....being digital photo proffessional, i also used this for image editing....

now i am trying to save the files as jpegs, any idea how i can go about this, it isn't letting me do this anywhere....i have tried other software to..ie photodhop etc

Will photoshop open them? If so you should be able to 'save for web' and it should save it as jpeg even if it doesn't give an option under 'save as'

Yup, photoshop, depending on version can do this. Did you get a Canon digital camera mate? I presume so following your other thread. In which case, with my 350D and 400D there is some RAW editing software free in the box that allows you to edit and work on the images as well as save them to JPG.

You can download a powertoy for XP that allows you to view RAW files in windows picture viewer. I find it easier to browse them straight from the card than open up PS.

I use CS3 to save them as jpegs though.... but there must be other proggys on the net that allow you do this.

With the CD that came with the camera there is a RAW file conversion utility (RAW image task) that can batch process your RAW files as jpegs's.

edit: just read your on mac, not sure if the supplied utilities are cross platform??

The supplied Canon software CD's with the camera work fine on a Mac, I used that until I updated to CS2.

I use CS2 and the included canon software. Sorry can't help ya further.

Actually do a search for breezebrowser! From what I can remember that can deal with Raw images!

oh wait, on a mac, Aperture?

dont install that powertoy raw viewer! its a massive pain in the bum, as it takes so long to chug though the thumbnails, then you click one thinking its a jpg, and it fires up photoshop! not handy!
