changing speakers

  ITR UKDC2

can anyone help me i am thinking of changing the speakers in my MK2 172 sport.

1)is it hard to do the back ones behind the drivers and passenger seats??????? im not going to do 6x9s

2) do i just need the halfords star screw-drivers or are normal screw drivers?

3) can i upgrade the speakers and keep the renault headunit?? or is there no point?

4) what speakers are good to get (3 way are a must)

If anyone could help or show some pics of their own speakers it would be great THANKS!!!

wow how many questions :eek:i think you will be ok with a screw driver.you could keep the renault head unit but better off not doing and speaker wise i think you get what you pay for........not the best answer but its better then nowt int it:)

Nope very easy to get to.

You need a star screwdriver but cant remember what size im afraid.

You can but id reccomend getting a new hu at some point.

4) what speakers are good to get (3 way are a must)

I think 2 ways are better as theyre not as harsh. What sort of budget have you got? BTW Its 13cm or 5 1/4" taht you need.

If anyone could help or show some pics of their own speakers it would be great THANKS!!!

not worked on a new shape clio, but well done on not going for 6x9s!

i would get the torx bits(the star ones) itll make the job a lot easier!!

3) can i upgrade the speakers and keep the renault headunit?? or is there no point?

you can keep your original h/u but id advise saving a bit of money and getting something decent, especially if you want to add amps etc

4) what speakers are good to get (3 way are a must)

this is a toughy to answer, depends on how far u want to go! you could get coaxial speakers (combined) or componants (seperate) but youll prob need an amp for comps. as for makes, anything decent that you can afford, (not sony!) alpine, focal etc

If anyone could help or show some pics of their own speakers it would be great THANKS!!!
there has been loads of threads like this, best to do a search!
