Changing steering wheel



  2004 Clio 1.2 16v


hi folks just wondered if n e one has changed their steering wheel and how they went about it???

wat probs did u encounter etc ie airbags, lights?

i have an 02 extreme and any help would be ace cheers

Fred dynamic has changed his wheel for an aftermarket one without an airbag.

Drop him a message but hes away on holiday at the moment so dont expect an instant reply.

Its not a huge job removing the wheel but you have to remember to solder in a 1.8 to 6.2ohm (I think thats the value) resister onto the airbag wiring to stop an airbag warning light comming on and remember to disconnect the battery for 1/2 hr before removing the airbag just incase. Or least remember to pull the fuse and wait two senconds for it to discharge.

one thing to add, it will be a b**ch pull the the wheel off, thread the nut ona few tunrs so when it finally comes free it doenst come up and smack you in the face
