Changing the colour of the speedo/rev etc

No idea what you call this, but ya know the screen behind ya steering wheel that shows your mileage, ignition lights etc? Anyone know what to change on there to change it from orange to say blue? Is it an orange film behind the display or is it something more technical?

i believe that the new clios use leds to light up the dash

the problem is that they are surface mount

Ive seen some electro luminecent white dials that glow either green or blue. Its the actuall gauges that glow up rather than being back lit.

The only thing is that changing the colour of the dials might look a bit funny compared to all the orange lights in the Clio.

  not a clio anymore

I remember a while ago someone did that on a clio and posted some pics. What I remember from the conversation is that you had to replace the orange leds by blue ones and you had to be careful which ones cos the blue ones could get hotter or something along those lines.
Maybe someone has a better memory than me.

^^ this is true^^ you gotta dismantle the dash, take out the instrument panel. Then de-solder the old orange LEDs, theres a few cant remember exactly but around 8-10? Then you get your new colour LEDs (blue or red etc) and re-solder them into the places you removed the old ones from.

Oh and remember which way the old ones were soldered in place cos iirc the LEDs are polarised, meaning the new ones will only work when connected one way.

im so up for doing this but would still look sh*t with the ornage console display (with ur clock on it)

for 1.8 16v and williams clock you can disassemble the clocks and make a template of the orange plastic, you can oder replacement plastic fromm the net no problems..... all you need to do is match the template and glue it in place... its quite easy to be honest....that way you can have any colour clocks you like!

what about mark ones?
Mark ones I would imagine are just a case of changing the in-dash bulbs for coloured ones (but dont quote me on that)
