I ask why has it been up for sale for so long, and why has the price been reduced further?

Ok he wants rid, but why? If it's in such 'good' nick, he could get nearer 10k.....

nah...Thats too cheap for an HPi clear car.
Exactly - I think it may have had damage but not have been recorded. I alos reckon it'll be scruffy.

It's very cheap, if it was a nice one he'd get 10k for it, it might take a little while, but decent ones are hard to come by (even years ago they were hard to get hold of) also mileage is on the high side, 5k on them per year is about average.

Aslong as it doesn't fall to pieces on you, you get the V experience on the cheap and sell it on for £6k. Puts a V in reach for a lot of peeps I imagine.

Except that most people couldn't justify the running costs. 20mpg if you're polite, £2k for a belt service, £200 a hoop, same insurance group as a supercharged Exige...

Granted it does get folk into one - but at what cost though ? (I don't mean the asking price lol) It'll be a tatty one to say the least. Pointless point of getting one imo, same for all cars that are cheap & tatty. Pay more & get a better one imo !

- I agree with Mike on this.

My point is that there are loads of peeps who would like 6 months with a V but haven't got the cash to buy a minter. This gives them that opportunity.

People walk into a V with open eyes. We all know how costly they are to run, and if it is tatty, most of that can be rectified with your own time and not necessarily great expense. Having said that, if you want a V for a bit, who cares if it's a bit tatty. You have the laffs and then sell on.

This is assuming the belts are done, but the price could simply reflect a damaged front end, which he doesn't seem keen on people seeing.

agree with most except the belt service-

1k from SG motorsport which is both belts & tensioners, fluid drain on coolent + brake, air con regass & service IIRC

looking at the ad its probably get there by the time you price up something like the belts- 2 new tyres- perhaps new brakes bits & bobs of wrk I bet you a lot of investment to get it to where it needs to be-

I think you'd struggle to get anywhere near £10k on a ph1 with 50k+ miles
