I disagree, quick drive of the car and a 5 minute inspection (whip wheel off) would uncover any real problems.
Apart from the tracking which is probably worth doing on any car over 2-3 years old I reckon anything else would be apparent. Long as the rod ends are fine and there's no hub damage everything else is cheap enough (dampers etc).
