HA HA HA, just read this on the performance metro club web site!!!

"Nice sunny day so thought to myself gotta take the car out for abit of a hack and what fun i had!

Had some guy in a v8 cortina all restored with his kids in the back giving it some down the road. Made his car look stupid!. At the same time some rude boy in a clio 172 cup was giving it some and i done him and when i looked at the speedo i was doing 125mph. The car still had some to go as well. I was taking some of sacha advice about dropping it down a gear and saying "have some of that" ;O)"

its a metro, with an 1800 engine in it out of a rover 218 i think! still i cant see it toastin a 172 ha ha ha ha

The 172 bit is bad enough, but a v8 on a rolling start would prob toast him. With kids in as well! probably just on tick over!

Quality! I used to have a Metro Studio 2 and that sh*tbox was like a rocket ship. Or at least I thought it was as I overtook people on bicycles.

you can laugh all you want guys and i wouldnt have believed it myself had i not seen something horrifyingly similar. i nearly cried. after the midlands meet wen we all went to merry hill, i came off a roundabout to find a metro absolutely pissing on me on the dual carriageway section shortyly after. i was upset to say the least but mines only a 1.4. imagine my dismay to see him pull up next to a r19 16v at the next lights and royally jizz all over it. and the metro was three up!!!!! i couldnt believe my eyes. there must have been a silly engine in it

I had a 89 1.1s from new in dark grey......what a machine!

it was that good I only kept it 3 months, part exed it for a new AX GT and lost a fortune.

It was worth it to rid of that bago $hite!!

Hey i had a 1 litre metro. I us3d to get overtaken by articualted lorries going up hills. It was THAT slow.

i had a metro turbo for a while. wasnt all that slow to be honest. itd probably keep up with a valver to bout 70ish.
