Checking Processes (Windows)

  Turbos.
I recently had a sudden burst of spyware on my computer that thankfully i managed to get rid of. However, there is a taskbar pop up which is from the deleted spyware that still comes up (but nothing loads with in it).

Would this be a registry entry that has been missed by the anti-spyware software i've used?

At the moment it's just an annoyance it being there, was wondering if there are any good sites which can check my processes and highlight ones i can stop running?

Cheers!

thought ctrl, alt, del would be the only way to allow you to end processes?

or

run: msconfig --> start up and you might be able to stop it from starting that way...

Get a copy of HiJackThis, install it and run it, copy and paste the log file into THIS site and then hit the analyse button. Should show you any dodgy files, which you can then remove.

Or get a copy of MalWareBytes, install and run it in safe mode. Should f**k it off.

This.
There's also a free tool from Microsoft called Process Explorer that I find handy. Run it and you can quit processes even if they're locked You can also close open handles to files (infected or malicious ones for example) so that they can be deleted without giving "Access is denied" errors.
