Can you do a history check on a car before you buy it with reno to check any warranty work or problems etc ??

Just phoned my local dealer and they said they are unable to do this :S sure they did before I bought the 182 though ..

HPI check? Doesn't this tell you if it's been involved in a crash and repaired or has outstanding finance on it?

Maz, phone the dealer the car had its last service at (even better if they were the supplying dealer) and they can fill you in on the details.

My local Renault garage are cnts and wouldn't do anything to help and deny that they can even find out.

call reno customer services, they will tell you what warranty work the car has had, providing the car is not registered privately. ie if it is registered to a Trader or dealership, they are obliged to tell you what work has been carried out under warranty.

Try and find out the current owners name and then ring there nearest dealer for a list of things that have been done. I done this before I got to know a lad quite well at reno and he had a look for me he was able to tell me what work was done right across the dealer network. They say they are unable to see if any warrenty work has been done but believe me they can if they want to.

yes they can do it, they did it for me on my 182 which i bought 1 month ago, printed a list of all work that had been carried out on the Reg fro my car,

Check:

• Stone chips on front bumper
• General condition of where the plastic meets the metal (this can crack)
• Tread on tyres (should be slightly lower on the inside of tyre)
• Amount of disc / pad left
• Decent clutch bite
• When driving it, make sure it goes in a straightline :quiet:

The rest is the same as a 182, so you should be pretty familiar with it.

lol, if it seems alright just hammer them down on price. No joy selling yours yet? Might be able to get a decent trade in but don't let them catch you off guard when your excited over the vee, just decide your bottom price before you go and don't take any less.

No maz, this is what I said...

TBH I advertised it at IMO a very good price but I've had that may calls from people offering me £17k I've put the price at £18,995 on Pistonheads, so if people still try and get £1k knocked off then they will be closer to the mark.

I don't understand people thinking they can get a 2005 05 plate V6 for the price of a 2003 V6 :nono: I may as well run it for at least another year myself if people can't push to a 2005. Oh and its still the cheapest 2005 you can get at £18,995 nevermind at £17,995.
