Ice, keep it on the patch for as long as possible. It makes it quite hard and is easier to then pick off.
Just treating it the same as if you get it on clothing to be honest. I know there is a substance that actually breaks it down now as well, again for cleaning clothes, but not sure I would trust this on car fabrics, just in case.
Get a can of air duster for cleaning computers. Hold it upside down and spray the chewing gum for about 10 seconds. This will freeze it and make it easy to peel off.
Use WD40 it works really well spray a little on the gum leave it a few minits and use a butter knife to pry it off the carpet.. it worked in the footwells of my cup so i would!!

Even better and exactly what I was about to write. They cans are not that expensive either, in fact, probably the same amount as a standard bottle of interior shampoo!
Sorry to bump an old thread but i've sat in some gum and it gone onto the suede on the seats Apart from the above does anybody have any ideas about removing this as i dont want to c**k the seats up by attacking them with a knife.
