ChippedUK, +8% remap for £100!

Has anyone heard of or had experience of ChippedUK, I found them on Ebay:

I emailed them asking about their maps etc. and wether they are generic or model specific. Here is the reponse I received with reference to a MK2 172:
We get around 8% on this car as a rule.
80% of everything we do is non-generic.
So 169bhp x 1.08 = 182.52

Is this too good to be true?

Anyone who calims to get 8% more power from the stock 172/182 engine or any N/A engine must have a dodgy set of rollers. On a 172/182 on a stock engine you'll get maybe 3hp more.
£100 sounds very cheap they won't be custom maps I've even question where they get there maps from.

ChippedUK has got a good rep over on the E36 and Zroadster forums. No idea if an 8% claim is realistic, probably not without any other mods.

Maybe possible with a decent zorst and ram/ik i guess, but with a chip alone it sounds like the marketing bull you find on everything except Ronseal products.

that kind of gain from an n/a engine comes from more work than a remap.

Wow...8Bhp would be impressive i'd have one for that, Dastek and stm, will get around half that in Bhp, but that torque "Is the proof of the puddin!"

Very well known........ very poor rep! Started with fords if its the guy im thinking of. No personal experience tho.
