chipping a 172

Has Anyone "chipped" their 172 clio ?

if so has there been a difference ? and is it really noticable ?

Im looking at going to get one of these "superchips" and wondered if anyone has had any experiences good or bad with superchips ?

My Clio Mk 11 172 has been chipped with the " Super Chip " but I have never been up against a standard Clio 172 to see what if any the difference its made.

It was the previous owner that had chipped the car, and having spoken to the Insurance company was happy to buy it. ( It only made 5 GBP difference in Insurance premium , if the car was turboed and you chipped it apparently thats a whole new ball game )

Basically from what I can gather the chip gives you about 5 - 10 bhp more , but in real terms it probably just means the car picks up slightly faster. The only time I have been with a group of Clios was on the Donnington meet last year, and I had no trouble picking up with any of the 172 or Cups going along the motor way or down the straight on the track.

But like I said , having never pitched the car against a standard 172 from the start , I dont know if its made any real difference.

But she sure flys, so very happy overall !
