Choosing A Bodyshop

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys look for when choosing a body shop?

Trying to find one that'll do basic colourcoding but wondered if anyone had specific reasons for using the places that they do.

I think of their ability to do preparation work properly and to be able to see when their work in colour matching is not 100% spot on.

If they are really good, you would never need to doubt their work when you pick the car up. Your recommendations is very important to them.

Possibly because it's something they can't really put into words. Some bodyshop guys just have their own special ways of prepping.

I prepped an old mini years ago. Bodyshop guy told me to keep going at it for almost a year before he would accept it fit enough to paint.

What one person sees as acceptable, another wouldn't. Totally unacceptable is very obvious thankfully.

Another tip: If he carries a white stick, you've got the wrong bodyshop. ;)
