cigarette lighter not working

checked fuse on my 57 plate clio dynamique, was fine but replaced anyway, and it's still not working!
any ideas on what it could be or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated!

I had this last week, ripped the cigarette lighter out and went at it with a wire brush as it looked like it had corroded or something had been spilt in there.
It's now working perfectly.

Ah brilliant! Was it tough to get out? Either way I'll have to give it a shot! Being a woman driver I can't go 30 miles from home without a sat nav!

bekkivikki.... i have the same problem. sat nav, however the actual cigarette lighter work, is this the same on yours?

All the sat nav stuff works fine as I used it in my friends car a few weeks ago. No charger or anything works in the socket in mine so it must be the socket. Hasn't worked since I got the car in September and the garage I got it from is totally useless.

Nop it wasn't difficult, I literally just ripped it out in frustration.
I've just spotted you drive a 2007 plate, where as I drive a 2005, so it's probably a different model.

I'm not sure on the set up on 2007's but I would imagine it's similar, as the reader ports are located next to the lighters.

I managed to get it out and gave it a quick scrub there was some crap lodged in the bottom but still no luck for it working! Have to have a better go after work.
