Clean my alloys

  Clio_Smart
Whats best to clean alloys i have dymanique 5 spoke alloys.

I clean them with hot and just the normal car wash but they still have that dirt look to them.

What can i use to clean them to make them look like new :D

Auto glym engine and machine cleaner. Then once clean give them a good polish, makes them easier to clean in the future.

first i spray loads of auto glym machine cleaner on,leave for about 20 secs then use a stiff wheel brush to get in all the nooks and cranies!Rinse off and repeat as required then rinse off with normal water ,dry with towel. Then finally dress with rim wax[www.carwashnwax].This stuff is brill.Leave on for about 5 mins then buff off. You will start to notice that your wheels will stay cleaner for longer due to this wax-you also get a good clean shine after too!

Depending on the grime AG engine and Machine Cleaner may not touch it. If that is still leaving behind some stubborn marks I would try some AG Tar and Adhesive Remover and some bodywork clay on them next. If that is till not working you will have no choice but to use an acid based wheel cleaner. Always start of with the mildest cleaner first though.

If the AG Engine and Machine cleaner works, follow up with a wheel sealant and all should be good. If you end up uisng an acid based cleaner - chances are it will make the paintwork quite dull so ideally you will need to polish them and then seal the wheels. Plus being after doing this soap and water will be all you need.

Specialist wheel sealants do work wheel, but you can also use decent polish /sealant route as you use on the paintwork. Autoglym Super Resin topped with there Extra Gloss Protection works well on wheels. I use that followed by Poorboys Wheel Sealant on mine.
