Cleaning Air Filters

Cleaning up my ITG panel filter - I understand that oil is kind've important in that it's not just any old oil however I already have the oil - Can anyone tell me is it really worth spending ~£20 getting the ITG cleaner or can this simply be done with washing up liquid and other house hold oil-breaker-downers for want of better word!

TBH im not sure, however I would not skimp on it, the ramification are immense if dirt does get into the engine.

What's a new one worth - 40 quid? I'd probably save the trouble and just get a new one tbh...

Use this its all the same and good for a few cleans and applications cleaned my filter twice as i understand washing up liquid will eventually rot the filter, you wont believe the dirt that comes out with the cleaner.

Thanks mate - seems like the safest bet! One of the reasons I mentioned washing up liquid is cos the instructions in the cleaning kit say wash it in the stuff after you've used the cleaner so was hoping to miss a step
