Climate Control Issue

  2003 Clio 172
Right so, driving home today I noticed something odd with my CC

It was 19 degrees outside but windy and cold from the wind

So i set my CC to 19 or so.......

But the AC light stayed on and the car simply refused to blow hot air

When i ramped the heat up to about 24 it started to get mildly warm but that seems a bit odd.

Is that normal behaviour?

In the BM, as i gradually adjust the heat i feel the heat coming out of teh vents gradually heating up.

set it to max see if it gets hot, if it does check the climate temp fan thing above interior light

It does get hot when maxed out.....it just doesnt seem to have a clue about happy mediums

Whats the approach with the wee cc sensor/fan in the light unit then?

A wee vacuum or blow out?

take light out , pull bigger section one , turn climate on see if fans spinning around, if its not replace.

Some also get issures with the cog on heater thing under dash breaking , mine did but this usual means its stuck on hot

im sure the wee fans spins.....i think i can hear it in the morning

I also watched the wee cog moving ok on the heater itself.

will investigate a wee bit more this eve

cheers for the help

Righto....

Removed and looked at the CC internal sensor, fan spins up ok when ignition is turned on and there was only a wee microbe of dust on the sensor, not enough to affect it i think.

Also pulled both wee motors off the heater tonight to have a look, both look just fine.

Hmmm.

Any more ideas?

Is that not correct? If the climate is on auto it tries to keep a steady temp of 19 in the car, its not the temp of the air coming out of the vents. If it was 19 outside, then generally its warmer in the car, so it would be blowing cool air to get the cabin to 19?

Once the cars warmed up, turn it off auto and set the temp to max with the ac off, see if its warm.
