climate control sensor?

hi folk

i change the climate contol sensor in the interior light on my 172 today,
when changing over the sensor i noticed a spare black wire with a conector on it. It doesnt look like its ever been attached to anything before, just wondered if anyone knew what it is ment for?

Could be the telephone pre wiring etc.
